Never forget 1984 - Part III

                                                                                           Part - III

From ' Anandpur Sahib Resolution '  to seeking a separate state ' Khalistan'!!!!

What went wrong  with talks between Sikh representatives and then Indian Govt. !!?

Akalis and Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale along with his men were fighting for a cause , rights of the Sikhs ( Minorities in India )  , which I personally see an urging for  'federalism' after going through that paper.

If one scrutinized the ASR , one would feel it was a step to envisage an autonomous Sikh State of Khalistan and that's what this moment finally led to. Young Sikhs filled with rage against the apathetic central Govt. proved to be just right for this moment , falling into the wrong hands.

The Akalis launched the Dharam Yudh Morcha , gave in arrest to voice their allegations that the Central government was discriminating against Punjab and demand the implementation of the Anandpur Sahib Resolution while bhindrawale  choose a 'different' path that the changed the course of Sikh and Indian History.

But WHY !!!???????

He was known to be a shrewd person , head of the Damdami Taksal  , thorough with ' Guru Ki Bani '.   Then what made him choose this path !!!???  fall to politic gimmick played between the Akalis and congress Govt.  Murky eh.!!

Did these men went too far rebelling against the discriminatory Govt. and taking up arms for the rights of the Sikhs or shall we say demanding a separate state for Sikhs.

Not sure how many were supporting 'Khalistan' and supporters of this ideology or this was just a personal desires of  'some' but one thing for sure a majority of the Sikhs supported separatism in the wake of Operation Bluestar.

If this was not planned before and supported by many it surely did after this military operation.

Operation Bluestar a failure on all fronts ?????

'Khalistan'  a desire of some or a state aspired by the whole community !!!?????

Are Sikhs treated fairly in their own country ?

Never Forget 1984 : Part II

                                                                      Part – II

Shots fired inside the golden temple complex..!!!!! Shots firing from all directions. In this cross fire were trapped hundreds of pilgrims. Hundred of innocent men , women , children  died between this cross fire.  Country men killed by their  own military men and ‘brothers’.

No warnings , No announcements made !!!

When Army began their  all out attack on the Akal Takht occupied by groups of Sikhs led by Jarnail Singh Bhindrawal it was a normal day for many before it turned into a bloody battle. This would had surely not crossed the minds of  Hundreds of innocent theist visiting their holiest shrine on the day of Guruparb. Imagine the fear , anger stuck in their hearts seeing their holy place under attack. Feeling helpless to all this menace.

A day on which surely many would have turned ‘atheist’ seeing such a horrific , inhuman , ghastly act in the lap of golden temple , a place that holds such high religious importance for Sikh people.

One can imagine the attack was so brutal and the battle scene so grisly, that there was much to hide from the public scrutiny.  No Red Cross people were allowed to enter, rather the Red Cross personnel had been detained beyond the Jallianwallah Bagh. Press Censorship had already been imposed, the last of the journalists were hounded away and the Press was not allowed inside the Golden Temple.

The upper portion of the Akal Takht had been fired at by the Army and completely destroyed. Pieces of the Guru Granth Sahib were flying in the air and littering the ground.

This was the respect shown by the Indian Army to the Harmandir Sahib!!!!!!!!!!!

You must have heard this horror tale many a times. Read it in better words. Felt the same rage over and over , but helpless.

Ever questioned it !!!!
Ever contemplated on how could this had been averted ??
Aren’t we equally responsible for this ???
What if Bhindrawale and his men surrendered  ????  Saving hundreds of innocent people , their holy shrine from being demolished , wrecked by Indian military.
Why did they even took up arms ?

Some might defend by quoting the Zafarnama  ( means the "Declaration of Victory" and is the name given to the letter sent by the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh in 1705 to the Emperor of India, Aurangzeb )

Chu kar az hameh heelate dar guzshat, Halal ast burdan bi-shamsheer dast.

But did the situation really went out of hands. Did the Sikhs tried all possible resolutions  ?
Was “Anandpur Sahib Resolution”   just another politic gimmick ?
Why Sikhs seeked  to create a separate Sikh country, called Khālistān?

Zillions of such questions...  but only murky answers.
Faith shattered…..     Widows…  Orphans…  Shame….   that's all what we got from this episode.

But who is responsible ?

It’s easy to blame others but it takes courage to own your blame.

Never Forget 1984

                                                                                              Part - I

1984 ,  year the AIDS virus was discovered ,  Apple Computer released the Macintosh personal computer. The first megabit chip was made at Bell Labs.

It was also in this year, on 18th February, that Italy and Vatican agreed to end Roman Catholicism as the state religion.
In the ‘third world’ country , INDIA their first female  Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated and a Chemical disaster in Bhopal left millions dead.

But If you ask sikhs  around the world about ‘1984’ , with tears in eye they would narrate a spine-chilling tale of horror occurred in 1984 with millions ghastly wounded.  The then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own 2 Sikh body guards which followed country wide series of pogroms directed against Sikhs in India, by anti-Sikh mobs. There were more than 8,000 deaths, including 3,000 in Delhi.

The sikhs are still fighting the case against some well known ‘civilians’ accused of leading the mob  that slaughtered sikhs like animals , signing petitions to recogonize sikh genocide titled "1984 Yes its Genocide".

So , What lead to the state of emergency in Punjab ?

Who is responsible for darkest hour in the sikh history ?

Could this had been averted ?

They say ‘ it takes two to quarrel ‘ , are Sikhs equally responsible for that repugnance towards humanity ?

Is Bhindrawale really a ‘saint’ ? People say “ He was born as a saint but didn’t died as one “. What’s the truth !!?

Operation blue star : Whether it’s justified or not.

Is violence the only way to achieve ‘peace’ in this world ?
